2010 - A New Year with Lots of Possibilities!

One of my New Year's resolutions is to write more frequently on my blog!  It has been an adjustment and I feel that now we are pretty much settled.

Well...almost!

My poor Forrest is resorting to playing his x-box on a dining room chair!

Bantam Sofa - 86"
Here is a picture of the couch that we should be getting in about a month - which will be a great relief!

we got a couple of things when we first got here but the rest will have to wait until we can nail down jobs!

We had to get creative with our storage options since we no longer are owners with a house with a basement.  It is amazing how much stuff you never knew you "needed" until you don't have anywhere to put it!

One of our amazing finds was a grocery delivery service call "Peapod". It's proved to be invaluable due to the fact that we don't live close to any supermarkets.  So to get to a half way decent market we would have to rent a zip car every time we needed food.  Forrest and I saw their truck while they were delivering to someone in the building and a light bulb went off!  Ahaha!!

A couple of weeks ago we went to the Garfield Park Conservatory:

It was a beautiful place and we can't wait to go back when some of the other plants are in bloom.  These are just a few of the billion pictures I took!

In contrast, these are pictures taken during one of our walks from one of the northern neighborhoods back down to the Loop:

Looking at the dates on these I think I need to fix my camera!  It was taken in January not December!  ARGH! :-)

So - that's what is going on with us for now - let me know how everyone is doing back in P-town!!

Iggy says "woof"Max just won't get off the computer!!

Better Late Than Never...Right?!

Well we finally made it!!  I have not been able to post due to the total chaos of moving!! URGH!!  We are finally settling in and are happy to be here!  As you can see from the picture above we live right next to the Chicago Theater - which is located in 'The Loop' in downtown Chicago.  Across the street is a Borders which was great when we had no internet because they have free wi-fi.  We also live right next door to Macy's on State Street which is one of their flagship stores.  It is unbelievably HUGE!!

Both Iggy and Max have adjusted well.  Max was a better traveler than are little Iggy man was.  Iggy just couldn't figure out why he couldn't sit in our laps when we were on the plane.

This is the view of Lake Michigan from our condo.  You can't really see it here but part of the lake is already frozen!

Here is a picture (above) of our bedroom and the view from it.

This is the living room but I realize that this picture doesn't do it justice.  It's much bigger than this! As you can tell we still are putting things away. We are also waiting for our couch to arrive.Forrest just found out that he has to send his X-Box in for repair.  This has  ended up putting a kink in his plans for when it is too cold to explore outside. I think he might end up passing the time creating his own blog.

You kind of get the idea of what the kitchen looks like.  Notice that Forrest won't let me take his picture. He is not willing to be one of my subjects tonight!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and a happy New Year!  I will be more up to date with my blog as I just got a new camera (the old one pretty much died).

I will keep you posted with our adventures!

Hugs,

Mary
