About Me

Chicago, IL, United States
Every since I was a little girl watching "The Bob Newhart Show" I have wanted to move to Chicago. Now is my time and I am super excited!! Call me crazy - but life is too short not to go for it!! In this blog I will be documenting all the ups and downs of our adventure -

Is Spring here or is this just a tease?

Has Spring sprung in Chicago?  I am told by the natives that there is no such thing as an actual "Spring" here.  It just goes from Winter to Summer ... at least it's warmer!

Well, believe it or not, WE FINALLY HAVE A COUCH!! I am jumping for joy!  Now - if we move again, everyone please remind me how long it takes to get a new couch.  Once I am reminded of that I will fight to hang on to this piece of furniture!

Forrest was being ever so handy and putting on the legs.

And here it is in all it's glory!!  Ignore my time stamp on the picture... I haven't jumped into the future!

You get a better sense of what the fabric actually looks like in this shot.

My sweet little Mr. Igglestien LOVES his new couch!!

Enough about the couch - here is a random photo that I took of our alley way because we walk up and down it so much with the dog that I had to catch it's coolness for posterity. This is Iggy and I out walking toward the Chicago Theater (he hates it when I interrupt walks to take pictures)

Damn - that's a pretty good shot if I do say so myself - but I can do better.  It's just a matter of reading my manual and learning how to use all the gadgets on my camera.

This last weekend it was so beautiful out that we decided to walk up north along the lake front to Lincoln Park.  This is the mouth of the river - right by Navy Pier for those of you that are familiar with Chicago.

This was a super crazy shot from our living room window.  Why is it crazy you ask?  Because it's at 5 in the morning!  I face the windows in the bedroom. Because of this, there are many mornings that I wake up just to  watch the sunrise.  It just so happens that this particular morning the sunrise was so fantastic I just had to get a shot!!  Unfortunately, I didn't really capture the beauty of it because
(1) I wasn't truly awake
(2) I still haven't figured how to get the shots that I am thinking of out of my camera.  All in due time...

Well that's about it so far.  Nothing too exciting but stay tuned because St. Paddy's day is coming and I will be taking LOTS of pictures!  :-)
