Every since I was a little girl watching "The Bob Newhart Show" I have wanted to move to Chicago. Now is my time and I am super excited!! Call me crazy - but life is too short not to go for it!! In this blog I will be documenting all the ups and downs of our adventure -

Better Late Than Never...Right?!

Well we finally made it!!  I have not been able to post due to the total chaos of moving!! URGH!!  We are finally settling in and are happy to be here!  As you can see from the picture above we live right next to the Chicago Theater - which is located in 'The Loop' in downtown Chicago.  Across the street is a Borders which was great when we had no internet because they have free wi-fi.  We also live right next door to Macy's on State Street which is one of their flagship stores.  It is unbelievably HUGE!!

Both Iggy and Max have adjusted well.  Max was a better traveler than are little Iggy man was.  Iggy just couldn't figure out why he couldn't sit in our laps when we were on the plane.

This is the view of Lake Michigan from our condo.  You can't really see it here but part of the lake is already frozen!

Here is a picture (above) of our bedroom and the view from it.

This is the living room but I realize that this picture doesn't do it justice.  It's much bigger than this! As you can tell we still are putting things away. We are also waiting for our couch to arrive.Forrest just found out that he has to send his X-Box in for repair.  This has  ended up putting a kink in his plans for when it is too cold to explore outside. I think he might end up passing the time creating his own blog.

You kind of get the idea of what the kitchen looks like.  Notice that Forrest won't let me take his picture. He is not willing to be one of my subjects tonight!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and a happy New Year!  I will be more up to date with my blog as I just got a new camera (the old one pretty much died).

I will keep you posted with our adventures!

Hugs,

Mary

  1. Great post, so happy for you for following your dreams! And moving is total chaos...we still have so many boxes to unpack, but then we had over 250 to start with. Wish I could have seen you before you left, stay in touch!

  2. Nice one Mary! Maybe Forest was just falling over for other reasons than not wanting to be in the picture...

  5. Congratulations on finally making it! Your place looks great, it's all so exciting! Like Mindy said, wish we could have gotten together before you went. But who knows, anything is possible, right? :) Happy New Year, and best of luck in everything.
